We represent several quality auto
insurers, which allows us to shop for the best deal
available.
Coverage Available
The information included here is intended
to provide a general understanding of automobile
coverage. Please refer to your auto policy for specific
definitions and descriptions of coverage, as well as any
other conditions, limitations or exclusions that may
apply.
Bodily Injury Liability Coverage
Protects the insured as the owner or driver of a vehicle
for all sums which the insured becomes legally obligated
to pay because of bodily injury to an injured third
party. This coverage also pays defense costs against
legal actions. Bodily Injury Liability limits are
usually split with the first figure limiting payments to
a single person per accident and the second limiting
payment in total for all persons injured per accident.
Collision Coverage
Collision Coverage protects your vehicle against direct
and accidental loss by collision with another vehicle or
fixed object.
Comprehensive Coverage
Comprehensive Coverage (also known as Other than
Collision coverage) is sometimes referred to as fire and
theft. A more accurate description is loss to your
vehicle caused by other than collision. This includes
coverage against perils such as hitting an animal,
vandalism, riot, floods, wind and hail, as well as fire
and theft.
Extended Transportation Expense Coverage
If your vehicle should be temporarily disabled for more
than a day, due to a covered auto accident, this
coverage will pay a certain amount per day for up to 30
days, or a maximum of limit toward the cost of a
replacement rental car. Common options include $15/$450,
$20/$600, $30/$900, $40/$1200 and $50/1500.
Medical Payments Coverage
Medical Payments coverage pays up to a specified amount
for injuries sustained by you and covered persons in
your vehicle, regardless of who is at fault. Unlike PIP
(or no fault) coverage, Medical Payments coverage only
pays for medical expenses.
Property Damage Liability Coverage
Similar to Bodily Injury Liability but limited to damage
caused by you to another person's property, such as an
auto, fence, telephone pole, etc.
Towing and Labor Coverage
If your vehicle is temporarily disabled on the road, it
will pay your actual expense up to a limit you select to
have your vehicle towed or for roadside labor to repair
your auto. Common limits are $25, $50, $75, $100 and
$200.
Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage pays for
your injuries up to the policy limit when the legally
liable third party has insufficient limits to cover your
injuries.
Underinsured Motorists Property Damage protects your
property up to your policy limit for property damage
that results from an accident with a legally liable
underinsured motorist or hit-and-run driver. This
coverage is not available in all states, is usually
subject to a deductible and can be rejected.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage protects you
and the occupants of your vehicle for bodily injury up
to your policy limits as a result of an accident with a
legally liable uninsured motorist or a hit-and-run
driver. In some states this coverage can be rejected.

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE
Available discounts vary by insurance company, but below
are some of the more common ones.
Anti-Theft Device Discount
A credit or discount may be available if your vehicle
has an Anti-Theft device. Smaller discounts may be given
for more passive devices (like alarm stickers on the
windows) while bigger discounts may be given for active
or disabling devices (like On-Star or similar services).
Driver Training Discount
Drivers who have completed a Driver Safety or Defensive
Driver course are often eligible for a small discount. A
certificate of completion is usually required at or
shortly after binding, or the discount will be removed.
Homeowner Discount
A small discount may be available if you own your home
or condo, as opposed to renting or living with a family
member.
Monitoring Discount
Some insurers offer discounts if you agree to have a
monitoring device installed in your vehicle(s) which
will track your driving and relay the information to the
company via satellite. This can be a substantial
discount, upwards of 25%, particularly if you are a
cautious, low-mileage driver who does most of your
driving during daytime hours.
Multi-Car Discount
A discount may be available from some insurers if you
have more than one car or truck on the same Automobile
policy.
Multi-Policy Discount
Combining policies with one insurer is generally the
biggest discount available. Amounts and eligible
policies vary by insurer, but generally 2-5% is saved
per policy for each policy written. So if you combine
your home and auto, you could save 2-5% off of each
policy. If you place your Home, Auto, Dwelling Fire
(rental property), Umbrella, Personal Articles, and a
Boat or ATV policy with the same insurer, you could be
looking at a discount of up to 12-30%. Again, discounts
vary by company.
